What information might my roofing contractor like to have with my initial phone call?

1. Name, address, phone numbers
2. Age, type, and number of layers on roof
3. Type of house and pitch (steepness) of roof
4. Any leaks or problems that need to be solved

How is the scheduling of my roofing project handled?
We schedule all jobs in the order in which we receive signed contracts - unless customers request a time beyond our current backlog. Of all construction projects, however, roofing is the most affected by weather and therefore precise scheduling is always difficult. We will contact you when we estimate that your job is approximately a week to ten days away.

But please remember: Delays are sometimes unavoidable, as weather and progress on other jobs affect our schedule.

How can I prepare my home for re-roofing?
As a general rule, roofing projects, especially tear offs, tend to be rather involved. During the project, there will be work crews, material, equipment, a dumpster and some roof debris on your property.

Keeping this in mind, it is our intention to minimize the disruption to your life. We instruct the work crews to keep the worksite as clean as possible and to be respectful of you and your property.

It is our intention to complete jobs in as short a time span as reasonable and this sometimes involves weekend work.

Daily work times however may vary based on weather, job progress and specific tasks scheduled for each day. We do not schedule the crew for two jobs at the same time and require them to stay on your job until it is completed.

For safety reasons, we ask that you, your children, and pets stay clear of the work area. If you have special concerns (landscaping, gardens, special flowers, driveway space, etc.) that we should be aware of, please let the Job Supervisor know before the job starts.

BAC Construction Services also wants you to know that in tearing off the existing roofing, we sometimes find roof boards that are not tight and small pieces of dirt and debris fall between the boards into the attic or garage. This is generally not a problem unless you might be using the attic for storage, in which case you will probably want to cover (or possibly remove) the items during the job.

What kind of job supervision can I expect?
The Job Supervisor will review the job with the crew before the job begins and go over any special details with the crew foreman.

BAC Construction Services's Supervisor will inspect the job to insure job quality. If you do have questions during the job and need to talk with your Job Supervisor, just call our office and we will page him.

The job supervisor will notify you to let you know that he has inspected your roof. If you have any concerns, please let him know at that time so he can resolve it. If there are any things that need to be corrected, the job will be reinspected to assure that it has been properly completed.
